About the Artist

Join me as we witness the dance of light...

"I paint the landscape and my surroundings in the tradition of many artists before me.  I simply possess that undeniable need to paint and express my feelings and joy I get from it.  I can't 'not' do it.  It feeds my inner spirit and I hope to speak to you using the visual language of brushstrokes, light, color, and texture.  I only hope to share with you the same beauty I see in the grandeur of nature and the simplicity of the profound~to celebrate life~good or bad."  Sharon Lazarowicz

BIO

Sharon Lazarowicz is an award winning artist presently residing in Northern Colorado. She was born Sharon Cornish in 1959 in the Seacoast region of New Hampshire.

Primarily a landscape artist, she loves to paint the west but growing up on the coast she also has a love for water and the sea. Sharon captures the light, mood and color of the life she knows.

Sharon has always been an artist.  Even as a child, she would sneak away from her large family and paint, sketch, and explore in watercolors around their home in the country.  Whether it be farm animals, landscape or seascapes, she has always been compelled to paint.  In high school, Sharon won numerous awards in art and also took to painting in oils and pastels.

Sharon's art guided her into a creative career in Marketing & Advertising. She then however, rekindled her passion for art and set her goals on a career in fine art. Sharon has quickly injected a presence in the art scene winning an honorable mention in her very first show.  With additional awards and juried national exhibitions now behind her, she strives to paint with compelling conviction and a commitment to always improve and grow as an artist.

Sharon is a versatile artist who works in watercolor, pastels and oils.  She loves to paint the landscape, sea and water as well as intimate florals and still life.  Her style is an impressionistic realism with an attention to composition, values, and color modulation.

The majority of Sharon's studies today come from studying the old masters as well as personal studies and workshops with the nationally acclaimed artists Lorenzo Chavez (pastels), Richard Schmid (oils), Mark Silvers (watercolor), Birgit O'Connor (watercolor), E John Robinson (watercolor & oil), Richard McKinley (oil & pastel), Ann Templeton (pastel & oil), and Bob Rohm (pastels).  Local workshops have also offered painting and sharing knowledge with many accomplished artists in the Northern Colorado front range.
